Kjaer’s Agent Claims Liverpool FC Quotes Were Fabricated

Danish defender Simon Kjaer has revealed that the reason he turned down a move to Liverpool FC is to win trophies, while his agent claims that his quotes have been fabricated.

Denmark international Simon Kjaer completed his move to Fenerbahce earlier this week. The Turkish side signed him from Lille for a fee of a 7m on a four year contract. Kjaer was previously heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, and the 26-year-old center back has revealed, in an interview published by Haber Turk, that the desire to win trophies forced him to turn down a move to Anfield.

Liverpool have been looking to bolster their squad this summer after a disappointing season under Brendan Rodgers last time around. The English club have already made some decent signings in James Milner and Danny Ings, but they are yet to land a mercurial signing that the fans are hoping for desperately in this transfer window.

Kjaer comments come as surprise since he has previously claimed to be a Liverpool fan. The defender was also linked with a move to Liverpoola s rivals Manchester United, but a deal failed to materialize. The Danish international, who has made 50 appearances for his nation, decided to join Fenerbahce, and in now in an interview to Turkish media Haber Turk, Kjaer he has explained his move.

.

a Liverpool wanted me, but I want championships, I want to win trophies. Fenerbahcea s goals this season are big, and it was explained to me very well.a a Kjaer said, according to Turkish media Haber Turk.

Meanwhile, in an interesting turn of events, Simon Kjaera s media advisor Lars Hendel has gone on record to deny these claims. Hendel insisted that Kjaer never mentioned Liverpool in his interview with Haber Turk and that the quotes have been fabricated.
