Key Manchester United Players Complain To The Board About Louis Van Gaal’s Methods

Reports have recently emerged saying that the Manchester United board members are deeply concerned, after senior players complained about the atmosphere of discontent at Old Trafford because of manager Louis van Gaal.

According to espnfc.com, the Manchester United board members have decided to call an emergency meeting before the beginning of the January transfer window to discuss the discontent that the players feel under van Gaal’s leadership. A number of senior members of the squad have allegedly complained about van Gaal’s restrictive methods of football and strict man management and now the board has been put in a tough spot.

The club had previously shown their full support to the Dutchman and it was being reported that he would be given another huge budget to buy players in the next transfer windows. But the recent run of poor form which has seen Manchester United crash out of the UEFA Champions League and lose to AFC Bournemouth, has tested their faith in the manager.

Van Gaal’s philosophy isn’t working

Louis van Gaal has taken a team traditionally known for it’s attacking prowess and turned it into a club that focuses only on keeping possession and passing the ball around. Manchester United fans have been furious at the way the club has been playing recently and a number of them have called for the removal of Louis van Gaal.

The senior members have complained of the restrictive nature of his coaching and his poor man management. Both are valid issues that the board need to look at. The restrictive nature of the manager is evident in the fact that the Red Devils can barely muster any good attacks and are always passing the ball back, while his poor man management has seen him fall out with former Manchester United players Rafael, Javier Hernandez and Robin Van Persie, as well as the outcast Victor Valdes.

United need Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has recently announced that he will be leaving Bayern Munich this summer and Manchester United could be looking to get him to Old Trafford, with the Spaniard expressing an interest in the Premier League and a club of Manchester United’s stature.

This seems to be the best solution for the Red Devils as the fans and players are growing discontent with Louis van Gaal and the frustrating way that the club is currently playing.
