Jurgen Klopp Pays Tribute To Brendan Rodgers’ Work On Liverpool FC Players

Brendan Rodgers - Liverpool FC manager

Jurgen Klopp has paid tribute to the “solid base” built by his predecessor Brendan Rodgers for the unbeaten start that the German manager has enjoyed during his new reign at Liverpool FC.

Rodgers was sacked as the Liverpool FC manager following a poor start to the season last month. The Reds chose to install Klopp as their new manager and so far, things look good with the German remaining unbeaten in his first six games.

Klopp credits Rodgers for laying the foundation for his good work

Hailing his predecessor for his work that led to him enjoying a good start at Anfield, Klopp was quoted as saying by ESPN FC: “What I said at the beginning is that you have to turn the small screws, and that’s what we’re doing at the moment. Brendan did a really good job and there’s a good base here because of Brendan’s work.

“I didn’t have to teach the players how to play football. Brendan’s work had done that.”

Klopp points out improvement

Klopp said: “A little bit of stability is very important for offensive play. You feel free when you know that not every chance for the opponent is going to be a goal.

“We had this situation against Southampton. With their late equaliser, it was easy to see that everything changed.

“When you see problems, you don’t always have to put your finger in and say it. But if it’s a big problem, you have to find the solution.

“The reaction to that came from the players. They did it in the next game. That’s the talent of the players. They did it at Chelsea and that helped us a lot.”

.

Liverpool FC next play Crystal Palace, having come off back-to-back wins in the last two games against Chelsea FC and Rubin Kazan. The Reds will be hoping to continue the run of form at Anfield when they host Crystal Palace.
