Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers has vowed to reward Jordon Ibe for his pre-season form and said that the player will a feature heavilya in the first team this season.
Ibe has been in scintillating form for . Liverpool FC in the pre-season, turning in man of the match performances against Adelaide United and Malaysia XI.
Ibe is touted to be the replacement for Raheem Sterling at the club and has earned rave reviews from manager Brendan Rodgers and fans alike, during the pre-season.
‘Ibe potentially top class; will feature heavily’
Brendan Rodgers has said that Ibe can become a top class player if he is given the time and environment to develop. The manager also went onto say that the winger will be given first team opportunity to develop.
Speaking to LFCTV, Rodgers was quoted saying: a Hea s definitely a player that we want to really create into a top-class performer, but wea ve got to give him that time and wea re creating the environment for him to do that.
a You see how exciting he is, but he still has a lot of potential and work to do. Hea s one that certainly will feature heavily this year.a
a We mustna t forget hea s still only 19. He broke into the team young and had some appearances. We felt he needed a loan, has gone out and did really well,a Rodgers added.
a Then when he came back last season he was exceptional in his performances. I think he really excites the supporters.a
Jordan Ibe made 12 appearances for Liverpool FC in the 2014-15 season after returning from his loan spell with Derby County, where he scored five goals in 20 Championship outings.
He signed for the club from Wycombe Wanderers in 2012 and was one of the few bright spots for the Reds in what was a disappointing last season.
The 19-year-old winger had, earlier in the summer, cancelled his holiday and asked the cluba s Academy director Alex Inglethorpe to help arrange some extra sessions to work on his finishing with none other than Kenny Dalglish coaching him.
If he continues to display the same attitude on and off the field as he is doing currently, Ibe is sure to fulfill the massive potential that is evident every time the winger touches the ball for Liverpool FC.
