Chennaiyin FC defeated Delhi Dynamos thanks to a brace from Jeje Lalpekhlua and goals from Stiven Mendoza and Bruno Pelissari.

Chennaiyin trashed Delhi Dynamos in Match 45 of the Hero Indian Super League on Tuesday; as they rushed to a comfortable three goal lead in the first half with all three forwards on the score sheet.

Chennaiyin manager Marco Materazzi was forced to make a make a change to their lineup that defeated Kerala Blasters after Alessandro Potenza had been suspended for the match for accumulating four yellow cards. Delhi Dynamos, on the other hand, named an unchanged lineup from their match against FC Pune City.

Delhi Dynamos made a poor start by over hitting a pass straight from the kickoff to lose possession with the first 10 seconds. Chennaiyin, who were buoyed by their victory over Kerala Blasters, saw that as a good omen for things to come, as they grew in confidence in the opening quarter of the game.

Delhi Dynamos had just begun to regain their confidence when they conceded two goals in a matter of five minutes leading to a complete collapse in the first half. But it was Delhi Dynamos, who had the first clear-cut opportunity in the 12th minute but Florent Malouda was guilty of fluffing it sidewards.

Stiven Mendoza on the 17th minute punished Delhi Dynamos, after Chennaiyin caught them on the break with a long ball over the top. The Lions goalkeeper Toni Doblas was first to reach the ball, but his headed clearance went straight to Mendoza, who made no mistake to calmly slot it into the back of the net.

Four minutes later Chennaiyin doubled their lead, as Bruno Pelissari made no mistake to convert the rebound after Doblas did well to save to Jeje Lalpekhluaa s initial attempt. Jeje, though, had to wait another twenty minutes before being able to add his name on the scoresheet, as he made provided a delightful finish to Stiven Mendoza cross.

Chennaiyin didna t let go of their control in the second half and goalkeeper Edel Bete showed an air of arrogance by juggling the ball thrice in the 52nd minute before clearing his line. Soon after that, Jeje doubled his tally for the night, as Mendozaa s deflected shot fell kindly for him to have a go at goal.

Materazzi was forced to make a change in the 71st minute after Raphel Augusto went down with an injury.

The last stages of game saw Chennaiyin defended intelligently by not letting go of the control of the ball and almost had a late chance to extend their lead on the 81st minute but Jejea s shot was blocked by the defender.
