Liverpool Manager JA?rgen Klopp hailed the ‘special’ atmosphere at Anfield after Divock Origi struck deep into injury time to salvage a 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
Liverpool took the lead in the 21st minute when captain Jordan Henderson rifled the ball in from close range after great work in the build up by Adam Lallana. West Brom equalized 9 minutes later through defender Craig Dawson’s scrambled finish after confusion in the Reds penalty box.
Another West Brom defender, Jonas Olsson, stunned Anfield by scoring midway through the second half after a great delivery by Chris Brunt. However, Divock Origi’s deflected strike deep into injury time salvaged a point for the Reds at Anfield.
Klopp hails special Anfield atmosphere
Speaking to the media after his side’s 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion, Liverpool manager JA?rgen Klopp praised the home fans for creating a special atmosphere at Anfield.
“Yesterday we spoke about the special atmosphere and it was a special atmosphere,” said Klopp (as quoted by the club’s official website).
“We defended well and everything was good. Creating chances is not easy against a team like this, especially when you played on Thursday.”
“Maybe the crowd was disappointed but they didna t let us feel it. Thata s the thing. We were all in the game, we were all concentrated and we all wanted to get one point at the end. It felt like three. I know it is only one but if felt like three.”
“This moment was an explosion and it was the best atmosphere since Ia ve been here. I really enjoyed it. I dona t know if ita s normal in England but I want to say thank-you. Together with the team, it was great.”

Origi equalizer masks real problems for Klopp at Liverpool FC

It is difficult what to make of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the moment. They have registered impressive away wins against Chelsea, Manchester City and Southampton since Klopp’s appointment as the manager of the football club on October 8, 2015. At the same time, they have drawn with West Brom and lost to Newcastle United and Crystal Palace in the past month.
Klopp seems to get the best out of his Liverpool side when they take on tougher oppositions, but not so when take lock horns with some of the so called ‘lesser’ teams. In what is surely a bitter pill to swallow for the Liverpool faithful, Liverpool have made virtually no movement up the Premier League table since Klopp’s appointment 2 months ago. He needs to get the best out of his troops on a more consistent basis to mount any sort of challenge for a top 4 finish for the club come the end of the season.
