Indian Super League : Iain Hume Happy With Atletico de Kolkata’ s Performance In Last Two Away Games

Gadze’s goal in the second half restored parity for Delhi Dynamos after Iain Hume had scored in the first half for the visitors. This was Delhi’s third draw in the third consecutive home game and with a point Delhi Dynamos kept their position in the league table. Habas’ s side remained at the fourth spot with the point.

Iain Hume who played a key role for Kerala Blasters last season expressed satisfaction with Atletico de Kolkata’ s performance in the last two away matches. Atletico had beaten Kerala Blasters 3-2 in their last match. Speaking to the media after the match, Hume said

We wanted to keep a clean sheet. but we are happy to get a point against a tough Delhi side. Four points from two away games against two teams on opposite ends of the table is very satisfying for us.

On being quizzed about his personal performance, the hardworking striker mentioned

It was frustrating to be ruled offside. Some of the decisions were controversial today. I am happy to score today but I am more happy with the team’s performance in the last two away matches. Four points makes us happy. My personal performance is irrelevant.

The Canadian who has led the attack for his side in absence of marquee player Helder Postiga expressed confidence that his side are returning back to their best at the right time.

Helder is back and Dejan has been signed, so its competition for the striking spot now which augurs well for the team. Sameehg Doutie and Valdo played well today and Izumi was the star against Kerala Blasters. Strength and depth is coming back to the team at the right time.

Atletico de Kolkata now face Chennaiyin FC in their next game at Kolkata and Hume expressed confidence of another good showing against Marco Materazzi’ s team.
