Indian Super League: FC Goa To Sign Dudu Omagbemi; Atletico de Kolkata In Talks With Md Rafique

Dudu Omagbemi struck up a deadly partnership with Ranty Martins.

Indian Super League sides FC Goa and Atletico de Kolkata are looking to sign Dudu Omagbemi and Md Rafique respectively to add squad depth

Dudu Omagbemi a a well known name among followers of domestic football, is all set to sign for FC Goa in the second edition of the Hero Indian Super League.

FC Goa have been terribly unlucky with injuries this season, as their forwards have found themselves lining up near the treatment table rather than finding the back of the net. Victor Simoes injury during the preseason camp ruled him out for the season, while Darryl Duffy suffered a hairline fracture during FC Goaa s match against Mumbai City. The management stared looking for replacements for Duffy as soon as the extent of the injury was confirmed and made a last minute swoop for Dudu, who looked all set to sign for the defending champions Atletico de Kolkata. FC Goaa s entry into the race for his signature saw Atletico de Kolkata withdrawing its interest after the advice of ita s mother club Atletico Madrid.

“FC Goa had lined up several replacements for Duffy and many of them have experience of playing in India before. Zico looked at all the profiles and then gave the go-ahead to sign Dudu,” said a source to TOI.

The Guars begin their return leg of league stage against Chennaiyin FC on Thursday, and have been boosted by the news of Rafael Coelho being cleared to play.

Atletico de Kolkata Sign Md. Rafique .

Defending Champions too have been ravaged with injuries and have been in search of replacements to add depth in their squad. Md. Rafique, who is plying his trade with I-League side East Bengal, had scored the goal in last seasona s final to help Atletico de Kolkata defeat Kerala Blasters.

As per reports in Bengali Media, Rafique is expected to sign on the dotted lines for Atletico de Kolkata on Wednesday.
