Indian Super League: FC Goa Eye Three Points, Not Revenge Against Chennaiyin FC

Marco Materazzia s Chennaiyn FC kick off their second leg of the league stage with a match against FC Goa on Thursday.

FC Goa, though, wona t be harbouring any intentions of revenge but will be gunning for three points against Chennaiyin FC, who hammered four goals past them, as per Zico.

a There is no feeling of revenge. What happened in the past is past. We came here for three points. We are here for a result that can help us finish among the top four,a Zico said during the pre-match media briefing.

Zico admitted that Chennaiyina s star striker Stiven Mendoza along with midfielder Elano Blumer, who had destroyed the Guars at Fatorda, will have special attention from the FC Goa defence.

a Mendoza is a good player, very fast and he had a great game against us. I had told our players to take special care of him and Elano but we did not succeed. We dona t have any special plan for Mendoza now,a said Zico.

Lady luck had been cruel to FC Goa regarding injuries but FC Goa head coach hinted that their new signing Rafael Coelho will play some part in the game.

.

a Rafael is training with us for some days. He will practice with us today (in Chennai) and then we will decide,a said Zico.

Chennaiyin FC have the motivation of piping FC Pune City to the top of the ISL table with a win over FC Goa but Materazzi was respectful of their opponents, when quizzed whether they have the mental advantage over FC Goa.

a No I do not think so.a

Materazzi, though, refused to admit that side are over reliant on the duo of Elano and Mendoza.
