Gonzalo Higuain Tells Napoli To Accept Any Liverpool Bid- Report

.

Liverpool FC have been boosted in a surprising way as Gonzalo Higuain has apparently told Napoli to accept any bid from the Reds.

Liverpool are looking at adding a top quality striker this summer, to ensure Daniel Sturridge’s absence doesn’t hurt them like it did last time.

Brendan Rodgers’s side has been linked with a move for Carlos Bacca, but the player has now reached an agreement with Serie A side. Christian Benteke has retaken his position as Liverpool’s number one striking target, but the club is still refusing to meet his 32.5mp release clause and will only buy him for a sum in the region of 25mp, at most.

Higuain has been linked with a move to Liverpool several times in the past, but those have been only rumors unconfirmed from any reliable sources.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the player in this transfer window, but tuttomercatoweb, who have cited their source as Sport Mediaset, claim that Higuain has pleaded Napoli to accept a bid from Liverpool.

While Liverpool could feel confident about their chances, if they were to follow up on these comments, they would be apprehensive about what comes next – bidding for the player.

Napoli, via Naples radio station Kiss Kiss, said potential buyers would have to pay a 94,736,000 eurosa to release Higuain a who is currently at the Copa America with Argentina a from his contract.

That’s a big sum for the Argentinean international and it is unlikely that Liverpool would go close to paying that amount.

Besides, this is mere speculation and it is uncertain whether Higuain actually told the club that. Liverpool’s number one striker target for the summer remains Christian Benteke at the moment.
