Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has suffered a fractured wrist which could rule him out of the start of the 2015-16 Premier League season.

The French International, who moved to the North London outfit from Lyon in 2012, has been heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United this summer.

As a result of his injury, Lloris will not be a part of Tottenhama s pre-season campaign.

According to reports, Manchester United have been looking at Lloris as a possible replacement for David De Gea, who himself has been linked with a big money move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The recently announced departure of Iker Casillas to FC Porto, after spending 25 years at Real Madrid, may trigger a major reshuffling between the sticks at Old Trafford and White Hart Lane.

In light of the above, the injury suffered by Lloris will be a huge blow to Manchester United and may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Tottenhama s hopes of retaining their shot stopper for at least another season.
