Former Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis has voiced his opinion on Louis van Gaal, saying that the Dutchman does not understand English football and is not suited to be head coach at Manchester United.
Manchester United are currently in a mess, with a six-match win-less streak putting Van Gaal’s job on the line. While addressing the media in a press conference, Louis van Gaal walked out after 4 minutes and 58 seconds, as he was disgusted by people talking about his Man Utd exit.
Does not understand English football
Andrei Kanchelskis has criticized Van Gaal for his style of play, suggesting that he does not understand English football as he follows a very different mantra to what Manchester United are used to.
“I just don’t think that Van Gaal understands English football. A team needs to have leaders, like Bryan Robson, Roy Keane, Peter Schmeichel, who can give the right things at the necessary moment and can show their leadership qualities.

“The coach does not want this and this is the reason for such disastrous results.”, Kanchelskis said as reported by BBC.
Not a Man Utd coach
The results have not been great for Manchester United in recent weeks, and although Kanchelskis believes Van Gaal should stay until the end of the season, he insists the 64-year old is not a Manchester United manager.
“I am disappointed with the way United are playing,” Kanchelskis said.
“Under Alex Ferguson, we played in a more attacking style of football and played in a 4-4-2. Van Gaal sees things differently. This is not a head coach for Manchester United.”
Two games to turn it around
Reports say that Van Gaal has two more games to save his job, as Manchester United have a replacement lined up in Jose Mourinho. Louis van Gaal’s philosophy of possession football hasn’t paid any dividends, and he could well be shown the exit door if he does not deliver soon.
The Red Devils next face Stoke City at the Britannia stadium on 26th December, which is bound to be stressful for the Dutchman in light of the several voices of criticism directed at him.
