Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants captain Sergio Ramos to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, with Manchester United extremely interested in signing him, according to Spanish journalist Pablo Garcia Cuervo
Manchester United‘s pursuit of Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid‘s pursuit of David Da Gea have become the two transfer saga’s of this transfer window, which just refuse to come to a conclusion. However, the two are believed to be interlinked to one another, at-least if any movement is to be seen during this window.
Sergio has made his mind up. Florentino also wants Sergio to leave – Pablo Garcia Cuervo
Speaking to Spanish radio channel, Marca, the journalist, threw some light on the recent developments at the Santiago Bernabeu, he said:
“Sergio has made his mind up. Florentino calso wants Sergio to leave, but Real Madrid want it to seem like Sergio is the one who wants to leave because he isn’t very ‘madridista'”
He added: “If Florentino P rez wanted to keep Casillas, he hid it very well. The same is happening with Ramos”.
No report had previously claimed that Florentino Perez wanted the Spanish defender to leave, however, Marca are very reputed for their close allegiances with the club, and it remains to be seen whether if this actually is a case.
Is the David De Gea – Sergio Ramos swap still on?
.
While, earlier reports had claimed that the negotiations regarding the transfer of Sergio Ramos had hit dead end, after Real Madrid refused to sell their star defender, the transfer was supposed to be dead for the window. The Spanish giants were extremely interested in signing the Old Trafford shot-stopper, but the Red Devils had refused to do any deal with the Madrid club, unless Ramos was included in it.
After the two inter-linked negotiations hit a dead end, it was believed that Manchester United had resigned to lose David De Gea on a free next season, but were unwilling to let him leave during this transfer window and were ready to lose a lot of money in terms of transfer fees.
However, keeping in mind the recent developments, the deal can no longer be considered to be dead, with now there being a possibility where the saga can take any new turn.
