FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique expects a tough battle as his second place side travel to the Coliseum Alfonso P rez to take on Getafe on Saturday.
Last Sunday, Barcelona cruised to a comfortable 3-1 win over Eibar courtesy of a Luis Suarez hat-trick. Luis Enrique’s side will be looking to keep up the pressure on league leaders Real Madrid by repeating last week’s performance against Getafe.
Getafe, on the other hand, will be looking to kickstart their season by upsetting the defending champions and registering their 4th consecutive home win. They will be looking to bounce back from their 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Sevilla last weekend.
Enrique wary of Getafe threat
Speaking to the press ahead of his side’s clash against Getafe, Enrique warned his troops to not take the opposition lightly as he looks to guide Barcelona back to the top of La Liga.
“It’s always tough playing at Getafe,”said Enrique. “We are expecting a typical performance from a team coached by (Fran) Escriba: well organised in defence and with quality in attack.”
“Getafe are a complicated opponent. They are very strong in defence and have quality going forward,” he said. “Getafe always manage to make life hard for us.”
.
Asked about next month’s Clasico against Real Madrid, Enrique retorted by saying, “The immediate objective is to go to Getafe and win and improve our play.”
a I am only interested in being champion. Entering the Clasico with three points more than Real Madrid or three points less to me is irrelevanta .

Win over Getafe is essential for Barcelona as tougher tests lie ahead
Luis Enrique’s men will be looking to keep their winning run going against a Getafe side that conceded 7 goals against Real Madrid and 5 goals against Sevilla. While Getafe are hardly expected to pose any threat to Barcelona’s title charge, their future run in appears to be tough on paper.
Luis Enrique’s Barcelona are set to face Villarreal, Real Madrid and AS Roma in the coming month. They will be hoping for Argentine superstar Lionel Messi’s quick return to fitness. The star player has been out of action for the past one and a half months due to injury.
