FC Barcelona Dominate La Liga Team Of The Year With Six Players

FC Barcelona players dominate the La Liga Team of the Year with six player in a poll voted by writers on the official website of the league.

FC Barcelona players that made the league’s best XI were Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, defenders Dani Alves, Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba, playmaking midfielder Ivan Rakitic and forward Leo Messi.

Their manager Luis Enrique was voted as the coach of the year as the club romped to a famous treble.

Real Madrid had only two players in Colombian star James Rodriguez, and the La Liga top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo in the XI.

Atletico Madrid star and top scorer Antoine Griezmann managed to keep out FC Barcelona’s other two part of the devastating attacking trio – Neymar and Luis Suarez who missed the season due to his ban till October.

Greizmann was a key player as Atletico Madrid finished third and is heavily linked with a move to Chelsea FC. The . player is also thought to be keen to move to Chelsea FC, but, he has a long term contract with Atletico Madrid and Chelsea FC look unlikely to meet his 43 million pound valuation.

Seville’s Polish midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, who is a target of Arsenal FC, also made the line up. Krychowiak has been one of the key players for Seville as they came within a whisker of the fourth position, losing out on the final day to Valencia.

Having qualified for the Champions League, Valencia defender Nicholas Otamendi was also in the XI. Otamendi was in sensational form throughout the season and no wonder Manchester United are now chasing the Argentine to solve their defensive problems.

Valencia are, however, insisting that they will not sell the player below his 50 million Euro release clause and it remains to be seen if Manchester United will continue to pursue the player with Valencia’s high demands.

Valencia had denied that Manchester United have lodged any bid for the player and it looks like Manchester United are biding their time for Valencia to lower their demands.
