FC Barcelona 6-0 Getafe: Luis Enrique Remains Cautious After A Thumping Victory


Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar took their combined goala s tally past 100 goals as FC Barcelona hammered 6 goals against Getafe last night. The La Liga leaders scored five goals in the first half to guarantee a thumping win over the minnows and cemented a five-point lead at the top of the table over Real Madrid.

Lionel Messi scored the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 9th minute after Luis Suarez was brought down inside the box by a Getafe defender. The Argentine then assisted for Luis Suareza s goal in the 25th minute, who scored from a brilliant volley.

Three minutes later, Neymar too converted a goal and reached the century mark of goala s tally of the a holy trioa of FC Barcelona. Couple of minutea s later veteran Xavi Hernandez combined with Neymar and scored a fantastic long range goal from the almost 20 yards away.

Luis Suarez then took his tally to 2 goals in the game after converting yet another spectacular goal from Xavia s pass. Lionel Messi scored the final goal of the game at the beginning of the second half and hammered the last nail in the coffin.

Barcelona displayed sheer domination in the game as they launched attacks after attacks on the Getafe defense. The opponent defenders looked helpless and were forced to behave like mere spectators at the field. After the first half, it was looking as if the Catalans would pile up a mountain of goals creating an embarrassment for Getafe. Surprisingly they failed to open goal mouth in the second half except for just once.

FC Barcelona have a convincing lead at the top of the league table and with just for games in hand, it is supposed to be a cakewalk for the Catalan giants. They have also remained unbeaten for 10 consecutive games now.

Club manager Luis Enrique although believes that it is going to be a neck to neck fight between them and rivals Real Madrid for the La Liga crown.

In the post-match press conference Enrique said , a Who knows this form of ours will continue. This is football and we have seen that in many competitions, such as in World Cups and leagues decided in the very last minute.
