Colombian superstar Radamel Falcao has endured a trying start at Manchester United and his agent Jorge Mendes now claims that his future is not secure at Old Trafford while suggesting that Van Gaal is robbing the fans of a great player by not playing him regularly this season.
After returning from his injury, Falcao started a few games but then was completely dropped from the squad against Southampton where United succumbed to a 0-1 defeat. It is believed that Van Gaal is not very satisfied with the Colombian which has put his future at Manchester United in doubt.
Jorge Mendes, Radamel Falcaoa s agent, has now commented that he feels sad for the fans at Manchester United as Van Gaal is robbing them of the chance of watching a world-class player like Radamel Falcao. The agent also claimed that Falcao might not stay at United in the future and could look for a move away from Old Trafford.
“I do not know if it will stay. This is a fantastic player and I think it’s very difficult for supporters of Manchester United.a
“Theya have an absolutely great player, one of the best in the world, which, no doubt, would play 90 minutes every game in any other club.a
“The truth is that, for the moment, we do not know what going to happen.a
“What we know is that it will play in one of the best clubs in the world next season. Whether or not Manchester.”
Manchester United have brought Falcao to United on loan and have a deal with Monaco to sign the player on a permanent basis for a total sum of A?49 million at the end of the season. However it seems that Van Gaal is not keen on signing the striker and has hence used him sparingly this season. To be fair, Radamel Falcao has also not lived up to the billing and has scored only 3 goals in his 7 starts. He has failed to make his presence known on the field with experts suggesting that Falcao might not be the force he once was before he injured his knee.
According to reports, Jorge Mendes is pulling all strings to make sure that Falcao stays at Manchester United and is holding David De Gea as a ransom to bait Van Gaal into signing the Colombian.
Mendes is negotiating deals for both Falcao and De Gea at Manchester United and it is understood that the agent has prioritised the Colombian due to the shortage of time regarding his deal. This means that Van Gaal cannot secure De Gea until he takes a decision on Falcao. David De Gea has only 18 months left on his contract and with Real Madrid lurking around the corner to sign the Spaniard, Van Gaal might be running out of time to take a decision on the future of Falcao at Manchester United.
