Negligence on the part of Perez cost De Gea his move to Real Madrid

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea chose to keep mum and redirected journalists to his agent Jorge Mendes when asked about a potential release clause that can revive his move to Real Madrid.

The David De Gea to Real Madrid saga was one of the most tantalizing piece of transfer in the summer window. The deal finally fell through on the last day due to a clerical error, after United and Real had agreed a fee and the player had agreed personal terms.

De Gea went on to sign a new deal at United, and when asked if he had a release clause of 30m GBP that can revive his move to Real Madrid, he was quoted saying the Guardian: a You should ask Jorge that question.a

The 24-year-old added: a He is the one who pays attention to those sort of details.a

The Goalkeeper was in fine form for Spain as they beat Ukraine 1-0 and has once again been one of the best players for Manchester United in the seven games he has played so far following the saga.

De Gea’s desire to move back to Madrid was a well known reason for the former Atletico Madrid man to pursue a move to Real Madrid.

.

The Guardian also add in their report that they tried to contact Manchester United about the reports of the player having the release clause, with the club declining to make a comment.

Either ways, the club or the players should come out and clear the air in case there is no such clause, as fans would be worried on the prospect of losing probably their best player.

If they do not, well, that is a clear sign of a release clause being a part of the new contract signed by the 24-year old goalkeeper.
