A?ech Believes Arsenal FC Have What It Takes To Challenge For The English Premier League Title

The Arsenal FC shot-stopper defended his manager’s decision to use David Ospina in the UEFA Champions League, and also insisted that the Gunners have the quality to challenge for the league title

Arsenal FC goalkeeper Petr A?ech will return to the starting lineup for the game against Manchester United this weekend after being controversially replaced by David Ospina for the midweek Champions League fixture against Olympiakos.

A?ech admitted in his interview with Sky Sports that he wants to be involved in every match, but defended his manager’s decision to use the full squad available to him. The Czech Republic international also remains confident about his new side’s quality, insisting they have what it takes to challenge for the title.

A?ech accepts Wenger’s decision to use Ospina in the Champions League

The former Chelsea FC shot-stopper will likely be in goal for the game against Bayern Munich, but accepts that it is not possible for him to play every game in the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, A?ech said: “I believe the manager has full faith in the team he picks and, as player, you have to accept his decision,” said the man who has started every Premier League game but is yet to feature in Europe.

“Do I want to play every game? Yes, I want to play every game. But I also understand it’s impossible. It’s the life of the manager when you make a decision and the team doesn’t win, the pressure comes. But that’s part of the life of a manager and footballers as well.”

The Czech international also insisted that Arsenal FC have the quality to challenge for the league this season. “It’s kind of refreshing, you don’t go to the place where you know every yard or inch but you discover new way of doing things and it’s kind of refreshing,” mused A?ech.

“But the main part is the football, this is why I came over here and I believe this team has the quality and potential to challenge for the title. I hope we will prove it over the course of the season.”

Title challenge a possibility in unpredictable Premier League

.

Although ArsA?ne Wenger’s reticence to spend on a world class striker and defensive midfielder has been criticised by the Arsenal FC faithful, the Gunners could actually challenge for the title in a league that is more unpredictable than ever.

The top sides in the league have all suffered at least one shock loss each, and no side looks good enough to break away from the pack as Chelsea FC did last season. This uncertainty gives Arsenal FC hope in terms of their ambition to challenge for the title.

Wenger’s men have been among the most consistent sides in the league in 2015, and if they are able to maintain consistency over the course of the season, they could well find themselves in a position where the title is a realistic possibility.

Although they might not go the distance, the North Londoners will be hoping to prove A?ech right over the course of the season, and show an improvement on last season’s league position.
