Brendan Rodgers Set To Be Sacked By Liverpool FC, Jurgen Klopp Not In Contention

Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers appears to be on the brink of getting sacked, with his side unable to put together a string of convincing performances despite the huge outlay by the club on additions for the second successive summer.

The Reds have won only two of their six Premier League fixtures and barely managed to win against League Two side Carlisle United Wednesday night in the third round of the Capital One Cup. The two victories that Liverpool FC have managed to pull together came under controversial circumstances.

The Northern Irishman has suffered heavy defeats to Manchester United and West Ham United and none of his summer recruits have managed to make a mark, although it’s probably too early in the season and some of the signings have not had enough time to get into their stride.

Jurgen Klopp will not be the next Liverpool manager – TalkSport’s Graham Beercroft

Some of the names being touted as potential replacements for Rodgers include former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp and former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Sky Sports had earlier in the day revealed that Jurgen Klopp is interested in coming out of his sabbatical if the right job in the English Premier League comes his way. However, the report also read that the German has had no contact from Liverpool FC.

Here is an excerpt from the . Sky Sports report:

Jurgen Klopp is interested in working in Premier League, according to Sky sources.

It is also understood that the former Borussia Dortmund manager would cut short his sabbatical for the right job.

At this point, the German has had no interest or contact from Liverpool.

Another report from TalkSport suggests that Brendan Rodgers is set to be sacked, however the replacement is not Jurgen Klopp. Here is an excerpt from the TalkSport report:

And Merseyside correspondent Graham Beecroft believes Wednesday nighta s stale home performance was the final straw for FSG.

a John W Henry would have looked at that performance and thought, a this is not good enough and a change has to be madea , and I understand that is going to happen,a Beecroft told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

a In fact, the club board were split in what to do with Brendan Rodgers, but the power base in Boston decided before this game they were going to make the change.

a This result will simply have reinforced the fact they feel they have to do that.”

Talksport have ruled out Jurgen Klopp from being in contention for the role of Liverpool FC manager. The report added:

He added: a Liverpool swiftly denied any talks with Carlo Ancelloti when the rumours became public, however you might remember Jurgen Klopp has been linked with the Liverpool job for quite some time and theya ve never issued any statement regarding that, so Liverpool fans saw that as being a little bit fishy.

a Unless something happens, whereby Ancelloti says no, that will be the only thing that will save Brendan, and even then, he would only stay in the short term.

a One thing I can tell you is that Jurgen Klopp will not be the next Liverpool manager.a
