Brendan Rodgers To Be Asked To Quit Or Accept Transfer Committee By Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers will survive the end of season review should he accept the current transfer policy in place at Liverpool.

Liverpool Chairman, Tom Wener, and Fenway Sports Group President, Mike Gordon, are expected to land in Liverpool on Tuesday and conduct an end of the season review with the manager on Wednesday according to reports in England. It is expected that Brendan Rodgers will be retained as the manager should he continue to work under the transfer policy of the owners that involves signing players that is approved by a committee.

“What we believe is that you need many people involved in the [transfer] process,a Ayre said last year. a That doesna t mean somebody else is picking the team for Brendan, but Brendan needs to set out with the team which positions we want to fill and what the key targets would be for that.a

. Brendan Rodgers had rejected working under a Director of Football when the job was first offered to him following the departure of Kenny Dalglish. This led to Fenway Sports Group forming a transfer committee to oversee transfer activity. The committee has come under increased criticism by the Liverpool fans as rumors emerged that targets like Bony were overruled by the committee and the manager was left to choose between Samuel Eto’o and Mario Balotelli.

It remains to be seen if Brendan Rodgers will continue to work with the current transfer structure in place. With Jurgen Klopp announcing yesterday that he is taking time off from the game, it does appear that Brendan Rodgers job is much safer than earlier thought with Liverpool owners sounding out the availability of the German.
