Brendan Rodgers Alleges Conspiracy To Get Him Sacked As Liverpool FC Manager

Liverpool FC’s under fire manager Brendan Rodgers has alleged to a conspiracy going around from people outside of the club, who want him to be sacked as the manager of the Reds.

The Northern Irishman accepted that some people from outside the club want him sacked after his side’s narrow win over struggling Aston Villa. Daniel Sturridge scored twice after James Milner’s quick opener to help the Reds register their first league win in five games. Rudy Gestede reduced the deficit twice for Tim Sherwood’s side, but was unable to inspire his side to a draw.

There were rumors going around that Rodgers was set to be sacked before the clash against Villa; however, the 42-year-old has managed to keep his job, for now. Rodgers also highlighted the ‘hysteria’ surrounding the club, despite claiming that the players and himself have remained calm in these turbulent times.

“There is a group of people that dona t want me to be here as manager”- Brendan Rodgers

The 42-year-old also insisted that his side have lost fewer games compared to Manchester City, Chelsea FC and Arsenal FC in all competitions.

.

Speaking after his side’s 3-2 win, as quoted by the Guardian, he said:

a I was never worried about the players.

a They have been absolutely brilliant this group here and they have worked very, very hard. I am pretty confident that there is a group of people that dona t want me to be here as manager. In all competitions this season we have lost less games than Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

a The hysteria around ourselves is interesting to note. Myself and the players stay very calm and work very hard, and they got their rewards.a

Rodgers insisted that the hysteria has been instigated by people from outside the club, but refused to identify the people behind the alleged campaign for his ouster.

a I am talking about people outside of here.a

a I think it is pretty clear. Sometimes we havena t lost games and the hysteria around it is pretty clear. There is maybe something else going on from behind. I will continue working with the players a they have been absolutely first class a and we still have top class players to come back in.”
