The CONMEBOL Qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup began yesterday with a string of upsets that saw Brazil lose to Copa America Champions Chile for the first time since 2000.
Argentina, after losing the Copa America final, made their worst start possible to their World Cup qualifying campaign by losing to Ecuador.
Brazil looked lifeless without their captain Neymar, who is serving a four match ban after being sent off against Colombia during a first-round match in the 2015 Copa America tournament.
Defeat to both the South American giants meant that neither rival got a chance to engage in banter and were forced to console themselves with reminders of their bitter rivala s defeat. But that didna t stop the Chille supporters from engaging on some banter on Twitter.
