Agent of Fluminense youngster Gerson has confirmed that he midfielder has agreed to sign a five-year contract with FC Barcelona.
Despite facing a transfer ban this summer, the Catalan club have been active in the transfer window. They have already acquired the services of Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid and Aleix Vidal from Seville, both of whom cana t make their debut for the club before January, 2016. Barcelona have now reached an agreement with Brazilian wonderkid Gerson, his representative Andre Cury has confirmed.
Five-Year deal agreed
Cury said that Gerson has agreed to sign a five-year contract with Barcelona, although he wona t arrive at the club before next season.
“We have agreed to a five-year contract with Gerson, without a fixed date for him to arrive in Europe.
“We’ll depend on [Fluminense president Peter Siemsen] to sell him.
“When he wants to sell, he’ll say: ‘I want to sell for X.’a a Gersona s agent told Globo.
Gerson has considered to be one of the best young talent in South America currently and at the age of 18, he has already become a key player for Fluminense. The attacking midfielder showed his worth in the U-20 South American Championship held this year, with both Barcelona and Juventus keeping a keen eye on his development.
The Italian club have already held talks with Gersona s father, Marcos Antonio da Silva, but Barcelona remained their preferred target. Gersona s father also spoke to Neymar and his family in order to get a feel of what to expect at Camp Nou.

Barcelonaa s offer for Gerson was believed to be around a 20 million, and although Juventus bettered this offer, the midfielder opted to join the Spanish club. Fluminense are however determined to hold on to him for one more season, and this could mean that the transfer will be completed next summer, but Barca now do have the rights for the first refusal on Gerson.
