Borussia Dortmund’s Aubameyang Not For Sale Amdist Arsenal FC Interest

Arsenal FC and Paris Saint-Germain target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be leaving the Signal Iduna Park, after Borussia Dortmund confirmed he’s not for sale.

The 26-year-old scored 25 goals for Borussia Dortmund last season, and was the top scorer of Dortmund. The Gabon international is believed to be a top-target of Arsenal FC . as they look to bring in someone to share the goal-scoring burden with Olivier Giroud.

“Aubameyang stays with us this season”- BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke

According to certain media outlets, the former Saint-Etinne striker was “not averse” to moving to either of the two clubs. With Dortmund having dropped out of the Champions League, these two clubs allowed the striker the prospect of playing regular Champions League football along with earning higher wages than he currently is at BVB.

Speaking to Bild, when BVB CEO Hans -Joachim Watzke was quizzed about Aubameyang’s future, he said: “Aubameyang stays with us this season. He’s not for sale!”

Dortmund set to extend Aubameyand contract?

The striker’s current deal with the club expires in 2018 and the club are willing to extend it, in a bid that a pay-rise would convince him to stay at the club. According to Suddeutsche Zeitung, Premier League giants Arsenal FC were willing to pay close to a 50 million for the 26-year-old.

Even, the reliable German daily Bild had reported last month, that The Gunners were ready to offer a 40 million for the sriker, however BVB sporting director, Michael Zorc admitted that Dortmund were not interested in selling the player.

BVB have already loaned out striker Ciro Immobile to Sevilla FC after a rather timid start to his Dortmund career and are currently short on strikers. Zorc feels that the player has grown to become a much better player during his time with the German club, following his A?13 million transfer from French club St. Etienne in 2013.
