Frustrated by lack of first team games at Bayern Munich, defender Mehdi Benatia says he will have to leave the club if he cannot get regular football with Juventus and Real Madrid interested in him, as per the player.
Benatia joined Bayern Munich from AS Roma last year on a reported a 28m deal, but, the player has had his chances restricted at the Bavarian giants.
Benatia made only 13 starts in the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich marched to the German league win with ease.
Frustrated by lack of first team opportunity, the player has now come out and said that he would have to leave the club should Bayern not be able to offer first team football to him on a consistent basis.
”I want to play consistently and if Bayern cana t promise that, then I could consider the idea of leaving,” he said.
The player further went onto add that he is flattered in the interest shown in him by Juventus and Real Madrid.
a I am honoured by interest from Juventus and Real Madrid, who doesna t dream of wearing those jerseys?a Benatia told Tuttosport.
Benatia’s transfer value sky rocketed after his impressive performances for Roma, who had bought him from Udinese a year before selling him to Bayern in deal reportedly worth around a 13.5m.
With opportunity at Bayern Munich restricted, it is hard to see how Bayern will be able to extract the same amount of fee from a buyer that they had paid to Roma should they decide to sell the player.
