Bayern Munich stalwart Bastian Schweinsteiger is no rush to make a decision on his Bayern Munich future amid reports linking him to a move to Manchester United.
Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger has only one more year left on his Bayern Munich contract and the midfielder is reportedly a subject of interest for Manchester United. Having only another year left on his contract, Schweinsteiger is in no rush to decide on his Bayern Munich future and wants to take all the time he need to evaluate the available options.
“I’ve agreed with (chairman) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that we’ll have a chat this summer to see how the future looks,” Schweinsteiger said.

“I’ve still got a year on my contract so there’s no rush, and the summer’s only just beginning.”
On the other hand, Bayern Munich chairman, Rummenigge, has said that the club is not keen on selling the legendary midfielder but will only consider an offer if Schweinsteiger requests to be transferred.
“Our position is clear: we would only consider a transfer if Bastian comes to us with the desire to leave,” Rummenigge told Sport Bild magazine.
In his time at Bayern Munich, Schweinsteiger has won eight Bundesliga titles, seven German Cups and one Champions League. Two of the 30-year olda s eight Bundesliga titles came under the management of current Manchester United coach Louis Van Gaal. The Dutchman also helped the German to bring out his best on the pitch by converting him to a deep-lying playmaker from a winger.
If Schweinsteiger decides against extending his stay at Bayern Munich, Manchester United will be the best destination for the Germany international. Under Van Gaal, Schweinsteiger will be able to play his best football and he will be a solid replacement for the now ageing Michael Carrick.
