Balotelli Not Going Anywhere; We Will Help Him Find Goalscoring Form Again: Rodgers

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has already stated that the club wouldn’t be doing much business in the winter transfer window as he feels quality additions can’t be made in this period. He has also said that if there would be departures, they would only be loan deals. However, he has gone on record to state that Mario Balotelli would not be leaving the club in January.

The Italian has endured a tough start to his Liverpool career and has only scored only two goals a neither in the Premier League a since his move from AC Milan. This has been down to him not fitting in Liverpool’s swift and high intensity system, him being employed as a lone striker, recurring injuries and of course, the low confidence the lack of goals have brought in.

Balotellia s manager at Manchester City, Roberto Mancini said the 24 year old could go on to waste his career if he continued like this. When questioned about the matter, Rodgers insisted Balotelli would stay with the club and won’t be going anywhere this January.

a Roberto knows him very well. I think he (also) said if you work with Mario you should be paid double a I saw that so I will take that on board and speak to the owners on that,a he said.

a All joking aside he (Mancini) has obviously worked with him and he knows him.

a Mario is a good guy and hea s come in here and not scored the goals he or we would have wanted, but we are determined to help him find the solution here so he certainly wona t be going anywhere in January.a

Liverpool have held discussions with Lille over the possibility of ending early Divock Origia s loan spell but it would require a significant change of heart from the Ligue 1 club, who stipulated as part of the A?10million deal last summer the striker had to spend another full season with them.

a He is a player who will definitely be here next summer but whether he will be here in Januarya .there has been some discussion but there is nothing to report on it,a said Rodgers.

a The agreement was with Lille for him to stay there so we will see how that works, but if not we have the players here who are developing and we will go with what we have got.a
