Arsene Wenger Gives A Classy Response To Gary Neville’s “Arrogant” Jibe

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville had labelled Arsene Wenger arrogant for his transfer policy during Sky Sportsa Monday Night Football show. The Arsenal FC manager has chosen to not react to the pundit’s criticism.

Analyzing Arsenal FCa s title chances this season, Gary Neville was quick to dismiss the Gunners.

Slamming the manager Arsene Wenger for his signings in the past decade, Neville questioned why the Gunners boss changed from Patrick Vieira, Emmanuel Petit, and Gilberto to Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini,

Neville went onto add that he cannot understand why Wenger did not sign powerful players like the ones he had before 2005 and instead chose to sign technicians like Cazorla and Ramsey. Neville said that it is due to such players that Arsenal FC cannot win the league, going on to add that Wenger is a either naive or arroganta for not buying those type of players anymore.

Wenger refused to comment on Neville criticism

Shrugging off the criticism by Neville, Wenger was quoted as saying in his post-match press conference by Sky Sports, “I don’t know what that has to do with arrogance.”

“I just try to do my job and I leave it to other people to assess my work.

“Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I could prove to you that it’s not necessarily right but let’s not go into that debate.

“When you don’t win you’re wrong. But I think I have enough experience and intelligence to know when it’s right and when it’s wrong.”

Henry defends his former boss

Thierry Henry, who was also on the panel of Monday Night Football, defended his former boss from Neville’s criticism.

The legendary Arsenal FC forward was quoted saying by Sky Sports: “I don’t think it’s arrogance, I think it’s belief. Arsene and the players believe they can outplay teams.”

Neville went onto counter the Arsenal FC forward by stating that it was a misplaced belief.
