As Arsenal FC prepare to host Liverpool FC in a crunch Premier League tie, we look at the last three games between the two sides in the league at the Emirates stadium.
Arsenal have got off to an indifferent start to their new season, having lost their opening day clash at home to West Ham 2-0. They followed the loss up with an unconvincing 2-1 win over Crystal Palace courtesy of an own goal by Delaney.
Liverpool FC on the other hand have ground out results against Stoke City and Bournemouth, looking solid at the back and threatening up front, especially against Bournemouth.
The history between the two sides suggests that Arsenal may very well have the upper hand at home, having won their last encounter rather convincingly and being unbeaten in their last three league games at home against the Reds.
1 – Arsenal 4-1 Liverpool a 4th April 2015
It was not the best of days for Brendan Rodgersa side, with a disappointing 2014/15 season imploding following the 2-1 loss to Man United at Anfield in their previous game. This game also came in the wake of Raheem Sterling’s unsanctioned interview with BBC.
Liverpool never really recovered from a terrible start as within no time, they were three goals down.
Hector Bellerin curled home after poor defensive work from Alberto Moreno, who allowed too much space to the defender in the box. Mesut Ozil doubled the lead with an inch-perfect free-kick that the goalkeeper could do nothing about and Alexis Sanchez thundered a third past Simon Mignolet before half-time as Arsenal ran riot.
A Jordan Henderson penalty did give the travelling Liverpool FC fans something to cheer about with 14 minutes remaining, but, Olivier Giroud put the icing on the cake in stoppage time as the Reds season went on off track with Arsenal going onto finish a steady third.

2 – Arsenal 2-0 Liverpool a 2nd November 2013
Arsenal made a tremendous start to the Premier League season in 2013-14 like Liverpool. The two sides went into the 2013/14 clash in first and second place in the league, but, Liverpool were no match for Arsenal who brushed them aside rather comfortably.
Santi Cazorla, who has often proven to be a thorn Liverpoola s side over the years, scored 10 minutes in the game, and Arsenal went on from strength to strength then on.
Aaron Ramsey scored a fabulous second for the Gunners, smashing a 25-yard half-volley past a hapless Mignolet.
The win never looked in doubt for Arsenal, with Liverpool FC failing in their first big challenge after Manchester United in the 2013-14 season. This led many to predict Liverpoola s unlikely title challenge had evaporated by November. It wouldna t be long until the Reds took Arsenal apart at Anfield in return fixture, inflicting a 5-1 defeat on the Gunners.
3 – Arsenal 2-2 Liverpool a 30th January 2013
The only game in the last three seasons when Liverpool FC have been able to get a result at the Emirates, and it could very well have been all three points had they have not thrown away a two goal leads and missed couple of great chances.
In a game befitting the attacking talents on display on the day, Liverpool FC would have felt that they could have got a lot more.
Suareza s deflected strike gave Liverpool a dream start, while Daniel Sturridge, Daniel Agger and Henderson all came close to adding a second, but squandered their chances.
Henderson did eventually double the lead of Liverpool in the second-half, as he scored a brilliant goal, powering his way past several Arsenal defenders before finishing clinically.
However, Liverpool were left to rue the missed chances as Giroud and Theo Walcott both scored to salvage a point for the Gunners.
