Arsenal FC star Aaron Ramsey believes current Gunners team is ‘the best in a long while’

Arsenal FC have ended their trophy drought with back-to-back F.A. Cup wins in 2014 and 2015, and Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey believes the club is ready to challenge in the Premier League and the Champions League .

The Welshman believes the current Arsenal FC team is the best he has every been involved in, and is confident of challenging for the title with the likes of Chelsea FC, Manchester United and Manchester City next season.

“Best Arsenal team I’ve been involved in”

Arsenal FC ended the 2014-2015 season in fine form and were arguably the best team in the second half of the campaign. ArsA?ne Wenger’s side had a similar run of form at the start of the 2013-2014 season; in both seasons, however, the Gunners have been unable to maintain their level for the duration of the season.

Aaron Ramsey has stressed the importance of consistency in mounting a serious assault on the Premier League title. Speaking exclusively to FourFourTwo magazine, Ramsey was quoted as saying: “Consistency is key. The form we showed towards the end of last season is the form we need to show throughout the new season if we want to be challenging for the title.

“In the last few years we’ve always had half a season where we’ve been the most consistent team a it would be great if we could do that back-to-back in one season.”

The midfielder also reserved words of praise for Wenger, and insisted that the current Arsenal FC team might just be the best in a long while. “I think it’s the best team we’ve had in a long while,” Ramsey said. “Probably the best team I’ve been involved in – and this club can get better. We’re in a very strong position to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League.

“[Wenger is] one of the best managers in the world. What he’s done for this club since he first took over is quite remarkable. He turned some good players into world-class players. All the players have the highest respect for him, and he deserves that.”

Arsenal FC must deliver now

The Welshman has a point when he talks about the current quality in the Gunners’ side. With the arrivals of world class footballers in Mesut zil and Alexis SA?nchez over the past couple of years, and more importantly, with no key players departing, Wenger is building a team capable of challenging for the league title.

Although Arsenal FC might still be a world class striker short of being one of the best teams in the country, they have the ammunition in attacking positions to compensate for any loss of form the likes of Olivier Giroud might suffer during the season.

The Gunners are in a position to challenge for the league, and Wenger must ensure that that happens sooner rather than later. Perhaps the Community Shield encounter against Chelsea FC this weekend – whom Arsenal have never beaten when managed by Jos Mourinho – will be an opportunity to make a statement of intent ahead of the new Premier League season.
