Arsenal FC Midfielder On The Verge Of Joining Podolski At Galatasaray

Arsenal FC midfielder Mathieu Flamini is on the verge of completing his move to Turkish club Galatasaray.

.

The 31-year-old will become the second Arsenal player to join Galatasaray this summer after Lukas Podolski completed his move to Istanbul earlier in this transfer window.

This was Flaminia s second spell at Arsenal, but he never really regained the form he had before he joined AC Milan in 2008. With the emergence of Francis Coquelin and a new contract being offered to Mikel Arteta, Flamini has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates. Flamini made only 15 starts in the league last season, and his opportunities will further dwindle when Arteta returns to full fitness.

Arsenal have agreed a fee of a 4 million

The Frenchman was earlier linked with a move to Bastia. Reports back then suggested that Flamini will join them for free, despite having one year left in his contract. But those rumours have taken the back seat now with Galatasaray coming to the forefront.

Earlier this week reports in Turkish media emerged that Galatasaray representatives will fly to Lond this week in order to hold talks with Arsenal regarding the transfer of Mathieu Flamini. Now Turkish newspapers AmkSpor and MedyaHaber are reporting that the Gunners have agreed a fee of a 4 million for the sale of the defensive midfielder to Galatasaray. Incredibly, if this does go through, it will be Flaminia s first move in his career which wona t be a free transfer.

The reports further claim that Flamini will now undergo a medical at the Turkish club and the move is expected to be completed within the next two days.

Clearance sale to make room for new arrivals?

Arsenal have already offloaded Abou Diaby and Lukas Podolski, while David Ospina could also be heading towards a possible exit. Arsene Wenger is clearly making space in his squad for possible new arrivals, and the next names on this summer clearance sale could be Joel Campbell and Mathieu Flamini.
