Arsenal FC legend Martin Keown believes that new Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp is a perfect match for the emotional Anfield fans and can help the club qualify for the Champions League this season.
Following Brendan Rodgers’ sacking on Sunday, the whole of English press had gone into overdrive over who could be the next manager at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp was the hot favourite and the former Borussia Dortmund manager was soon announced to be the man to take the club forward.
Liverpool FC currently sit in the 10th position in the league after a poor start to the season. Keown is of the opinion that the Reds do not currently have a squad capable of mounting a serious title challenge, but they do have the tools and the manager to capitalise on Chelsea FC’s disastrous start and make it to the Champions League next season.

Keown feels that Klopp would feel at home with the Liverpool FC fanbase, who are known to be emotional and the German is set to thrive on this. The charismatic 48-year-old helped Dortmund to two consecutive Bundesliga titles and a lot would be expected of him at Anfield. The onus is on Klopp to help his new club reclaim its past glory.

“I don’t think they’ve got the squad to win the league, but there is a Champions League ticket available because of Chelsea’s poor start.

It has happened before at Liverpool when Gerard Houllier and Rafa Benitez came in a sometimes it may take a foreign manager who appears to have more clout than a young coach coming in from the English game.
