Out of form Chilean Alexis Sanchez netted a brilliant hat-trick, as Arsenal FC beat Leicester City in a goal fest. The Gunners doubled their goal scoring tally of the season in one game, having scored only 5 goals so far this season.
Arsenal FC were criticized for their profligacy in front of goal, but the strikers came to the party to halt Leicester’s unbeaten start to the season.
Jamie Vardy opened the scoring for Leicester and all seemed too familiar for Arsenal FC, before Theo Walcott used his electric speed to equalize for the Gunners. It was all Alexis Sanchez from there on as the Chilean, who had received criticism for his poor start to the season, silenced the critics in style.
The 26-year-old got on the end of a Hector Bellerin cross and finished into an empty net to give the Gunners the lead. Sanchez then got on the end of a brilliant Mesut Ozil cross and glanced a header past Kasper Schmeichel. He completed his hat-trick with a long range finish, which completely caught Schmeichel out of position.
Jamie Vard pulled one back for the Foxes, but a comeback looked unlikely. Olivier Giroud, who had replaced Walcott completed the rout with a tidy finish from a Nacho Monreal cross in stoppage time.
Arsenal FC fans took to Twitter to express their relief on the Gunners finding their rhythm back and also to praise Sanchez for his brilliant hat-trick.
