Earlier today, English newspaper Daily Star had reported that Kaboul had told friends he is keen on joining the Gunners when his contract expires this summer.
Earlier, it was claimed in a paper repor that Centre-back Kaboul, 28, is best friends with Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby and boss Arsene Wenger will need cover in that area with Thomas Vermaelen poised to leave at the end of the season.
But Kaboul Tweeted: “I can confirm 100% that the rumour about me joining Arsenal is not true!!!”
Such transfer would have brought back the memories of Sol Campbell’s acrimonious move across north London as a free agent in the summer of 2001.
Tottenham offered Campbell a new contract which would have made him the highest-paid player in the club’s history, but he elected to join Arsenal instead and went on to win two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.
Campbell was never forgiven by Spurs fans and labelled “Judas” by many, suffering vitriolic abuse whenever he returned to play at White Hart Lane.
Kaboul joined Spurs for a second time in 2010 from Portsmouth, for a fee of around A?9.5m.
Arsenal Captain Vermaelen: Players want Wenger to stay
Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has said that the whole squad wants Arsene Wenger to stay in charge at the north London club, despite the manager’s future being uncertain.
Wenger, 64, has still not signed a new contract to stay at the Emirates Stadium despite his current deal ending this summer.
Wenger hinted last month that he is looking to extend his stay at the club, and club captain Vermaelen says the coach – who recently completed 1,000 games in charge of the Gunners – has universal backing from the dressing room.
“Everybody wants him to stay as long as he can,” Vermaelen told theAi??Daily Mirror. “He’s been incredible what he’s done for this club, and for the players as well.
“We would be really happy for him signing on for a few more years.
“The spirit is unbelievable in the team. We’ve worked a lot on our team shape and everybody knows their role in the team, everybody’s working for each other and that’s because there is a great team spirit. That’s the great improvement for us this season.
“It is just the hunger in the team. Of course it was there before but the spirit is great and you can see us fighting for each other really hard.”
Arsenal are on verge of ending their nine year trophy draught as they into the finals of FA cup against West Ham.
Arsenal trail league leaders Liverpool by seven points, while fifth-placed Everton are four points behind Wenger’s side with a game in hand.
