A surgery was imminent, and the 27 year old already underwent knives and the Uruguayan FA is confident of his involvement in the upcoming World Cup.
Contrary to the reports by Tenfield, the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) said that the playerAi??sustained the injury in Liverpool’s final game of the season against Newcastle.
Doctors performed an arthroscopic partial resection of the striker’s meniscus on Thursday morning and confirmed afterwards that there were no complications.
Uruguayan FA official Roberto Pastoriza claimed that the surgery was successful and the board remained hopeful and optimistic that the talismanic striker would be fit in time for the tournament.
“According to the report I received a while ago, they are optimistic that he can play the World Cup,” said Pastoriza.
Pastoriza elaborated on Suarez’s injury and stated that the official report on the injury would be spelled out by the press secretary later.
