According to reports, Manchester Unitedai??i??s boss Van Gaal is interested in Juventusai??i?? Arturo Vidal, Borussia Dortmundai??i??s Mats Hummels and Bayern Munichai??i??s Xherdan Shaqiri and is looking to bring these targets to Old Trafford this January.
Juventus have revealed that ultimately it will be Arturo Vidal who will decide if he wants to move to Manchester United. It was earlier reported that it was in fact Vidalai??i??s knee injury that prevented him from moving to Manchester United earlier this summer.
However Juventus chief Giuseppe MarottaAi??has now hinted that the player will ultimately decide whether he wants to move away from the club, opening the doors for Manchester United to negotiate a deal. He also revealed that the clubai??i??s healthy relationship with Vidalai??i??s agent is what kept the player with the club last summer.
“It always depends on the player. If Pogba and Vidal are happy to stay, then we will keep them.”
“We didnai??i??t want to give Vidal to Manchester United, end of story. Besides, our rapport with his agent Fernando Felicevich is good.”
Both Vidal and Paul Pogba are being actively pursued by other European clubs and the Juventus chief has now added to the speculation surrounding his two prized midfielders.
Meanwhile according to reports, Borussia Dortmund have put a price tag of A?47 million for their star defender Mats Hummels with Manchester United and Arsenal leading the race. Hummels has long been linked with United and Arsenal and though he has claimed his loyalty with Dortmund, the clubai??i??s poor performance this season could prompt the defender to look for a move away from Germany. Dortmund will be anxious to not lose another star player to arch rivals Bayern Munich but sitting 15th on the table, they will not have much convincing power in their negotiations with the player.Ai??Hummels had earlier dismissed a move abroad claiming that he ai???earned enoughai??i?? at Dortmund but given Kloppai??i??s teamai??i??s recent performances, he could look for a move to England.
Also according to reports, Manchester United have also targeted Xherdan Shaqiri and will be looking to pry him away from Bayern Munich. The Swiss international has been linked with a move to Liverpool for a long time but it seems that Ed Woodward and co are preparing an A?18 million bid in order to land the winger.
A move away from the star studded side at Bayern Munich could be a wise move for Shaqiri who has not been able to get much playing time at the Allianz Arena. Playing second fiddle to bigger stars, a move to Old Trafford will be in the playersai??i?? best interest.
THT Verdict: There is a high possibility of Arturo Vidal moving to Manchester United as the move fell through earlier due to the Chileanai??i??s injury concerns. However it now looks that Vidal is fit and raring to go and hence negotiations could move in the right direction for Ed Woodward.
It is however unlikely that Mats Hummels will leave Dortmund in the middle of the season. An ardent fan of the club, the defender has always spoken out with fondness regarding the club and is unlikely to ditch the ai???projectai??i?? half-way through a bad season.
Xherdan Shaqiri is a good target for Manchester United and Ed Woodward could go in for the Swiss international. At the moment United only have Angel Di Maria playing on the wings with Janujaz not ready to take up a permanment role in the team.
