Arsene Wenger says Thierry Henry would one day return to Arsenal, but perhaps not as a player
After Thierry Henry put up a facebook post stating that he wasnai??i??t going to renew his contract with the New York Red Bulls, for whom he had played for 4 years, and having not yet officially announced his retirement from the game, there was fervent speculation that he might return to Arsenal one last time, for the final 6 months of the season. This, of course, was based on the statement by Henry that he would like to help Arsenal win the Champions League for the first time in their history.
Arsene Wenger, in his press conference before the Southampton game, agreed that Henry would certainly return to Arsenal one day. He said, ai???He has the right to reflect and think of what he wants to do now.
ai???He is an Arsenal man. It was the best moment certainly of his life and of his career has been experienced here.
ai???Certainly one day he will come back here. In what role I donai??i??t know. That is what he has to think about: what direction he wants to give to his next life.
However, Wenger seemed to suggest that he has no immediate plans of signing him up, considering he would be a free agent. ai???I donai??i??t think he wants to do that again,ai??? Wenger said.
ai???He has given a lot, he has come out with an image that is fantastic. Iai??i??m not sure that he wants to play again in the Premier League. I donai??i??t think he wants to carry on. What I understand is that he wants to reflect for a while on how he wants to go into his next life.

Arsenal fans would certainly love to see Thierry Henry back at Arsenal one more time, considering that the team is having a hard time maintaining a winning run of form. With the league season seemingly already in tatters, it would certainly be helpful for a legend of the club and a winner to help the club in the FA Cup and the Champions League.
Henry would be especially helpful in the Champions League, considering he already has won it, and also, after his misses in the final against Barcelona, he has some unfinished business to do with the club.
