Chelsea FC cruise through to the next round in the FA Cup despite a valiant effort from Derby County.
Chelsea have set up a fourth round clash against Stoke City with this win and will now look to maintain their run of four consecutive wins against Hull City in the Premier League. Derby County came into this match on the back of a defeat against Wigan, but are undoubtedly one of the most in-form sides in the Championship presently. The home side put on a good display in the first half and tried to maintain their defensive organisation, but despite their wonderful effort the difference in quality eventually proved to be the difference.
John Obi Mikel scored a rare goal in the second half to provide the lead to Chelsea after he headed in a wonderful free-kick from Willian. It took only five minutes for them to double the lead as Oscar powerful drive found the back of the net. It was a comfortable win in the end of the away side, but one which lost a bit of its gloss after Ramires was booked for diving. Following Jose Mourinhoai??i??s criticism of Luis Suarez, two of Chelseaai??i??s players have been booked for simulation contradicting Mourinho claim that ai???there are no divers at Chelseaai???.
