Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has criticized his team for failing to defend as a unit after taking the lead against Leicester City.
Manchester United started the match from where they left off against QPR and produced some mouth-watering moves in the opening 15 minutes of the match. It was the first time van Gaal opted to start with all three of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao in the starting line-up, with Angel Di Maria in the midfield.
United took an early lead in the game as Robin van Persie scored his first goal of the season as he headed in a delicious cross from Falcao. Just three minutes later they doubled their lead with an early contender for goal of the season. Angel Di Maria once again showed why he is worth the huge transfer fee Manchester United paid for him this summer and scored his second goal in as many games with a world-class lob over a stranded Kasper Schmeichel, but Leicester responded immediately and Leonardo Ulloa pulled one back with a thunderous header.
United restored their two goals cushion in the second half as Ander Herrera scored their third goal with a neat flick. That is where it all went down for van Gaalai??i??s men. David Nugent and Esteban Cambiasso scored in space of three minutes to restore parity, while Jamie Vardy and Leonardo Ulloa added two more before the end of ninety minutes. Tyler Blackett also managed to earn a red card meanwhile as Unitedai??i??s weakness at the back was left exposed.
Wayne Rooney was left disappointed at the result and criticized the team for failing to defend a two goal lead in the second half.
