Having tied Wayne Rooney at Manchester United for a long time to come, it seems David Moyes has turned his attention to Alex Song who he reportedly plans to bring to Old Trafford from Barcelona this summer.
Staying true to his claims of building a strong squad at Manchester United, David Moyes has plans of bringing Alex Song to United this summer in his bid to restructure the squad. The Cameroon international moved to Barcelona in 2012 from Arsenal but has since then been unable to earn a starting spot in the squad. The defensive midfielder has managed to find a spot in the starting eleven only 9 times in the La Liga this season, his last one being against Real Sociedad where he scored an own goal to give the opponents a considerable advantage. Though his contract ties him with the Catalans till 2017, the midfielder is being linked with a possible move to Manchester United this summer in a bid to re-establish his credentials. Finding himself low down the pecking order at Camp Nou, David Moyesai??i?? offer to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford will be a tempting one for him to refuse.
The 26 year old midfielder was a promising youngster coming up the ranks at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger when he decided to move to Spain in 2012. Initially an under-study to Sergio Busquets, he has since then failed to make an impact with Barcelona. While the midfielder is apparently craving for a more decisive role at Barcelona, it seems highly improbable that he will be able to usurp Busquets at Barcelona. It now remains to be seen if Song is interested in moving to England and whether he will join his former Arsenal team-mate, Robin Van Persie, at Old Trafford this summer.
Meanwhile Vidic, who is on his way to Inter Milan next season, spoke ahead of his teamai??i??s clash with Olympiakos on Tuesday stating that he plans on leaving United on a high.
