Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has offered club legend Raul Gonzalez the chance to return as a member of the technical staff.
Reports in various Spanish newspapers including El Mundo Deportivo, El Confidencial and Marca have claimed today
that president Perez is keen to bring the most popular ai???Madridistaai??? ever back to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Raul left Real Madrid in the summer of 2010, immediately after the arrival of Jose Mourinho, and joined German side Schalke 04 where he had excellent two years. Raul is now contracted to Qatar based club Al-Sadd and planned on playing for another year before retirement but reports coming out of Spain claim he is considering the Presidentai??i??s offer.
The claim was first made in the last week, when President Perez and Raul had a meeting when Madrid travelled to Qatar to play Paris Saint-Germain.
Raul was offered the opportunity to work alongside former teammates Zinidine Zidane, Guti, Fernando Morientes, Ruben de la Red and Santi Solari, who are all part of the coaching set-up at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Club legend Raul still enjoys enormous respect in the hearts of the Real Madrid fans and Perez is hopeful that he will be able to justify his role as technical staff member.
Raul is the record goal scorer and appearance maker in Madrid history, netting 323 times in 741 games and winning six League titles and three Champions Leagues.
Angel Di Maria Makes Gesture Apology
Within a day after causing a big controversy with his gesture on being substituted against Celta de Vigo, Angel Fabian Di Maria as now apologized about the unfortunate incidence.
Di Maria denied making an offensive gesture to his genitals but accepted that his actions could have been misinterpreted.
“It wasn’t meant at the crowd or at the gaffer, but I’d like to apologise to anyone who may have been offended”, Di MarAi??a told the Realmadrid TV cameras. “I made a normal gesture when I was coming off. It was aAi??natural gesture that all men do, especially when you’re running. I’m really sorry to anyone who was offended by it, but I’m telling the truth”, the Argentina international explained.
“You can see in the footage that it was only for a split second. It was nothing. It’s not like I did it for a long time to make a point. It was something natural. I apologise to everyone who was offended by what I did, butAi??it wasn’t aimed at anyone at all”, he added.
Di MarAi??a nevertheless backed the club’s decision to open an investigation into the incident: “I think that’s the right thing to do. Not only from their point of view, but also so that I can explain the situation and what happened”.
The winger concluded by explaining about his current role in the Madrid team, expressing satisfaction with his rank.
