Ranbir Kapoor’s Mumbai City FC take on John Abraham’s NorthEast United, in a fixture which guarantees goals. After crushing FC Pune City 5-0, the home side come into the game, running high on fan support and with an intent to grab their second win on the trot. NorthEast United make their trip away from home, after collecting a point against FC Goa, thanks to a Koke Penalty. Ricki Herbert, the visitor’s gaffer has already made his intention to adopt an attacking style of play, whilst Mumbai City, inspired by Moritz, would be looking to give their fans another thumping victory to cheer upon.

Winning formulas are rarely changed in the game of football. Justifying so, the home side is expected to lineup in the same way, that they did against FC Pune City.
Subrata Paul is expected to start, with the defensive duo of Cmvos and Friedrich, sitting infront. Both Friedrich and Cmvos had a decent game, against Pune, and often kept the legendary David Trezeguet quiet. The Wingbacks comprise of Costa and Letzelter, which provide defensive solidity to the Mumbaikar framework.
Nadong Bhutia, who generally operates as a Right Back, has been pushed upfront to play as a Right Winger, which gives more defensive stability and a chance to render counter attacks. Ralte, after being deployed as a Striker in Mumbai’s fist match, starts as a Left Winger, a position which suits him more. The center midfield pairing of Stohanzl and Tiago, are expected to sit back and govern play, releasing either Ralte or Mortiz by their passing acumen.
Perhaps Mumbai’s best bet in attack is 28 year old Brazilian Andre Moritz. Moritz, was sensational against Pune, scoring the first hattrick in the Super League. Deployed as a Creative Midfielder, Moritz, is a threat that NorthEast would want to disarm, if they are to win this game. Subhash, has been impressive so far, linking up plays and often finding himself at right spots, to guide the ball in.

Dubbed as the ‘Dark Horses’ in the inaugural Super League season, the franchisee which represents the eight states of North East India, has failed to impress people so far. Sitting comfortably at third, thanks to a win against Kerala Blasters, the franchisee has failed to garner praises in its last two fixtures, collecting just a point.
Alexander Tzoravs, who was overlooked for the tie against FC Goa, is likely to return as the man between the sticks. Joan Capdevila, would be played alongside Garcia, making up a defensive duo which looks solid on paper. The wingback positions would be manned by Aibor Khongjee and Robin.
Starting with Issac Chansa, has its ups and downs. The Zambian, however is likely to start at Center Midfield, is seen often drifting wide in matches, an area which if left vacant, would be capitalized by the fluid Mumbai attack. Mtonga, is probable to accompany him as the Midfield Pairing. Boithang Hakoip, is expected to replace Do, who had a tiring ninety minutes against Goa. With fan favorite Durga Boro upfront alongside Koke, the attacking force driven by these two, seems to be reasonable. Durga has a penchant for long shots, and will look to test the ‘Indian Spiderman’.
