Manchester United Target Toni Kroos Hints at Bayern Munich Exit

Toni Kroos has put Manchester United on high alert after admitting that he turned down a new contract with Bayern Munich.

United have been strongly linked with a move for Kroos at the end of the season, amid talk he has grown frustrated with life in Germany.

And after weeks of staying silent, the 24-year-old has finally spoken to reveal he has rejected the chance to sign a new contract with Bayern. And while the 24-year-old insists he is happy to stay at Bayern, he admits he is no closer to committing his long-term future to the club. It appears now that the midfielder, who’s contract expires in the summer of 2015, is open to theAi??possibility of leaving Munich.

“Much has been written, especially in the last few days, about my sporting future,” Kroos wrote on his official Facebook page. “But you shouldn’t believe everything in some newspapers.

“The fact is I am very happy to play for Bayern and my position in the team is very good. The fact is also that we couldn’t agree a new contract.

“Since it runs until 2015 this is not a big problem, and we will see what the future brings.

“My focus is on the sport side of things and we will do everything possible to complete the season as successfully as last season.”

Kroosai??i?? current deal with Bayern runs until 2015, but the news is said to have sparked Unitedai??i??s interest, with David Moyes set to make an official bid for the player at the end of the current campaign.

Speculation regarding a move away from the Allianz Arena intensified when Bayern manager Pep Guardiola suggested it was possible the player could leave the club, prompting Manchester United to reportedly enquire about Kroos’ services during the final days of the January transfer window.

Bayern are said to value the attacking midfielder at about A?25million. There have also been suggestions that Kroos could be allowed to leave Bayern after a reported bust-up with manager Pep Guardiola. However, Bayern Munich director Matthias Sammer has revealed the club is keen to tie down midfielder Toni Kroos to a new long-term deal.

“We are aware that Toni Kroos is a very good player,” Sammer said to the media today.

“We actually have a contract left to go with Toni Kroos and we clearly would want to keep on with him.

“Everyone at Bayern Munich is sharing this point of view.”

However, Kroosai??i?? comments suggest that he is not majorly concerned about contract talks, probably expecting negotiations to pick up again at some point before the end of the season or after the World Cup in the summer.
