Ai??The biggest take away for David Moyes from the win would be the fostering partnership of Juan Mata and Shinji Kagawa throughout the course of the encounter. The Spanish-Japanese pair showed good understanding in the middle of the park and linked up with each other to great effect. Mata started in his favourite number ten role which meant he could play with more freedom and express himself better while Kagawa, with his runs from the flanks caused all sorts of problems to the Villa defense.
It would take time for Mata to get back into the kind of player he was at Chelsea but the Spaniard did control proceedings in the afternoon and did it with aplomb. Ai??The build up to the second goal just before half time was down to the brilliant understanding by Kagawa and Mata, the former who played in a perfectly weighted ball for the latter to be brought down for a clear penalty. Wayne Rooney subsequently dispatched the set piece to give United the lead while Mata himself scored his scored his first goal in a United shirt with a tidy finish to make the win ever more emphatic.

Right from the word go Paul Lambertai??i??s side stretched the United defense with their pace up front. United were never assured at the back and if this continues, the Red Devils will have a tough time against Bayern Munich in the quarter finals of the Champions League.

Ai??The win does lift some pressure over David Moyesai??i?? shoulders and with angry fans sending an overhead plane to vent their frustration on the Scot, it wasnai??i??t the best of scenes at Old Trafford. Itai??i??s true that Moyes hardly has put a poor right after taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson, but everyone associated with the club would appreciate that he would be forever in the giant shadows of his predecessor. The owners perhaps have to give Moyes more time to assert his authority over the squad and if they are do that, coupled with a good shopping spree in the summer, the Red Devils would be back to their very best next season.
