Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha is close to joining Cardiff City on loan till the end of this season, while Fabio secures a permanent move.
Wilfried Zaha was signed by Manchester United in the last winter transfer window, before being loaned back to his former club Crystal Palace for the rest of the season. After completing his A?15million to Old Trafford, a lot was expected to this highly rated youngster who took the Championship by storm last season.
But despite making few appearances in the pre-season matches and then the community shield, his contribution in competitive first team matches has been limited to say the least. The 21-year-old has made only two appearances as a substitute in the league and his only start this season came in the League Cup fixture against Norwich back in October.
Cardiff City, along with few other Premier League clubs, were looking to sign Zaha on loan, but David Moyes had earlier blocked this move as the Manchester United squad was been stretched by injuries and he believed that Zaha could still play a part in this campaign. This, reportedly, didnai??i??t go down too well with Zaha and the Englishman was believed to be involved in a bust-up with the Manchester United manager regarding his future.
But the arrival of Juan Mata from Chelsea has now provided Moyes with enough depth in the attacking department and Moyes has supposedly given green signal to a loan move for Zaha to Cardiff City. Former Manchester United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken over at the club recently and his arrival could have also been a big factor in sanctioning this move.
Skysports are now reporting that the Englishman has arrived at St Georgeai??i??s Park in order to undergo his medical ahead of his proposed loan move the Bluebirds. Zaha will join them for the remainder of the season and a loan fee of A?1.5million is believed to be involved in this deal. Solskjaer, who has earlier managed the Manchester United reserve squad, has a good reputation of nurturing young talent and this move could be massive step for Zahaai??i??s development as a footballer.
This will also be a massive boost for Cardiff City, who are currently struggling at the bottom of the table, in their bid for survival this season, If Zaha can have a similar impact he had at Crystal Palace. Cardiff are also close to signing Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones in a swap deal which will see Peter Odemwingie move to the Britannia Stadium.
But Zaha is not the only Manchester United player who will join Cardiff City in this window. Brazilian fullback Fabio has also reportedly secured a permanent move to the club for an undisclosed fee and is also expected to be announced shortly according to SkySports.
