Manchester United and Arsenal FC transfer target Matthias Ginter has revealed his future ambitions of moving to a ‘big club’.
Freiburg might be struggling in the relegation zone in the Bundesliga but Matthias Ginter has been one of the shining lights in the German team this season. The 20-year-old was promoted to the first team back in 2012 and he hasnai??i??t looked back since. Ginter has progressed through the German youth ranks and has also made his first senior national team appearance this year. His meteoric rise has of course drawn a lot of attention for a host of European clubs this season and the future of the German defender at Freiburg has come under a lot of speculation. Ginterai??i??s current contract runs till 2017, but it is unlikely that Freiburg will be able to keep hold of their prized asset beyond this season, considering the fact that they might well be relegated to the second division.
Ginter has already been scouted by Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen, with the Gunners were considered as the front runners back in the winter transfer window. But Arsenal will now face competition from Manchester United in their attempt to sign the youngster as David Moyes has reportedly set his eyes on the German international as he looks to replace the likes of Nemaja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand in the squad. Ginter is also a very versatile footballer, who can play in the midfield as well.
The Freiburg defender has now welcomed Manchester Unitedai??i?? interest in him and has revealed his intentions to move to a bigger club in the near future. But the youngster has refused to reveal any details of negotiations with any possible suitor and has also rubbished links that he could move to Bayern Munich.
“I am unable to publicly discuss negotiations, this should remain behind closed doors.
“It’s definitely good to know great clubs are interested in my services. It’s an honour to see clubs like this being keen.
“It’s my goal to play for a big club one day in the future. This is no secret.
“It doesn’t need to be Bayern Munich. Still, to play for a big club is the dream of every football player.” ai??i?? The Manchester United transfer target said in an interview.
This will certainly add more fuel to the speculations regarding his future and will certainly encourage Manchester United and Arsenal to make their move in the summer. But the English clubs will surely face competition from other European clubs in their effort to sign this highly rated youngster.
