The Swiss international stated that he will like to move to England in search of better playing opportunities
Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has openly accepted the fact that he is thinking of joining Premier League next season. The 22 year old midfielder also said that he would like to join a club who will play in the Champions League, clearly pointing out a transfer to Anfield. According to starsport Liverpool also reacted quickly to his statement by offering Ai??15 million pound for his transfer.
A player with quick pace and attacking play, Shaqiri moved from FC Basel to Bayern Munich in 2012, but because of the power-packed midfield of Bayern- comprising the likes of Robben, Muller, Ribery, Schweinsteiger- he managed to pull off only 43 appearances for the Bavarian giants since his arrival. His number of match starts shrunk down to 16 this season and because of such lack of opportunities at the start, He hasn’t been able to make any strong impact with his gameplay, reducing him to a ‘regular-substitute’ in the Bayern side.
Speaking to 20 Minuten, Shaqiri saidAi??”It’s clear that I cannot continue like this. If nothing changes, I will have to make some changes myself.
“I want to play in the important games as well and not just in the Bundesliga. I don’t want to go through another year like this” expressing his eagerness to perform well in crucial games.
