Liverpool are plotting a A?20m summer swoop for Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo.Ai??The former Real Madrid youngster has now become one of the most important players in the team since Juan Antonio Pizzi took over from Miroslav Djukic over last year.
It has been reported that boss Brendan Rodgers wants Liverpool to make a move for the La Liga player in a bid to make his team stronger for next season.
The 24 year old Parejo began his career in the youth system at Real Madrid. He got his debut opportunities in the 2008-2009 season, with five substitute appearances from the bench. He was sent out on loan to Queens Park Rangers, in the English Championship, in the same season.
With the failure to establish himself at Los Blancos, the Spanish giants decided that they wanted to let the player go and sold him to Getafe in the summer of 2009. Parejo enjoyed two good seasons with them and was then sold to Valencia ahead of the 2011-2012 season. Slowly, but steadily, the 24 year old worked his way into the first team and has now become almost indispensable in the squad.
This season Parejo has featured 29 times in all competitions for Los Che, also has contributed with three goals and five assists. Parejo plays as a central midfielder, but can play a little ahead as an attacking midfielder, or a little back as a holding midfielder with a playmaker role. The player links up well with attackers and contributes defensively too. He is as good with the moving ball as he is with a dead one, as the midfielder is great at scoring from set-pieces and is good with supplying through corners.
Quality performances have now begun to attract interest from other clubs and it looks like Liverpool are the player’s admirers as Liverpool chief scout Barry Hunter was in the crowd when Valencia was playing Granada on 23rd Feb and was said to be paying particular attention to Parejo according toAi??superdeporte.es.Ai??

With Barry Hunter already scouting him, according to reports, it can be established that the Reds want the player, and it is not merely speculation. The Valencia player has brilliant qualities that would attract Liverpool. With Isco’s move seeming highly audacious, Parejo is a direct replacement for that transfer target. His playing style reminds one of Steven Gerrard as he is solid in the midfield in all aspects. Parejo will benefit from this move as he would get to play in the Champions League with the Reds (in all probability). The only thing where the deal might not go through is the A?20m price Valencia are reported to ask for him. It remains to be seen if FSG would let Rodgers buy a 24 year old (turning 25 in April) for such a high price. However, if Ayre and co. and negotiate and get Valencia to lower their asking price, it seems like Liverpool would have the Spaniard for the next season.
