Liverpool looking at Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Rojo, if the Reds are unable to attain Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno
Liverpool are apparently not happy with stalled negotiations with Sevilla over full back Alberto Moreno. The youngster looked set to sign for the Merseyside giants about a week back, with reports of him travelling to the city of Liverpool with his father for a medical also doing rounds. It was reported that Liverpool had agreed a five year deal for the player ai???in principalai??i?? and were going to make a formal announcement shortly. However, recent reports have emerged that the La Liga side are complicating the transfer by now asking for a higher sum than what Liverpool are ready to offer.
It is suggested that Sevilla are asking for a sum in the region of almost A?20million which Liverpool are clearly unwilling to pay. Tottenham are lurking in the background and Daniel Levyai??i??s side could hijack yet another one of Liverpoolai??i??s targets and do so successfully if Sevilla donai??i??t agree to Liverpoolai??i??s offer. Rodgers was prepared to offer Spain Under-21 midfielder Suso as part of the deal, but Sevilla are not interested in the youngster who has, in the past, expressed a desire to play for the club.

Liverpool are in need of a quality full back, after last season where the glaring need of attaining one became visible. Left back Jose Enrique was injured for most part of the season and young Jon Flanagan, who is primarily a right back, rose up to the occasion and filled his boots. But with Liverpoolai??i??s return to Champions League football, they would need an even better full back for that position. Glen Johnson, England and Liverpoolai??i??s number one right back, had a very disappointing season and Brendan Rodgers would definitely want to replace the player next season. Thus the Reds need not one, but two quality full backs. The attainment of at least one would be a start.
Alberto Moreno and Marcos Rojo would both be ideal additions to the squad. Moreno is younger and has looked very promising last season.
